Environmental Characterization of Contaminated Sites

At the Mexican Environmental Corporation (CAM), we have advanced solutions for contaminated sites.

Environmental Characterization of Contaminated Sites

Face environmental challenges with experts in soil and groundwater diagnostics. We apply cutting-edge technology and certified methodologies to offer accurate, efficient, and reliable assessments.

We have our own equipment for environmental drilling; identification of underground infrastructure using geophysical techniques; and contaminant profiling using advanced technology that allows for rapid and accurate detection of contaminants in the soil; ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and quality results for every project.

Our environmental characterization services

We offer a specialized portfolio to detect, analyze, and delimit the presence of contaminants at potentially affected sites:

  • Environmental drilling services in soil and rock
  • Soil sampling (exploratory/detailed) and waste
  • Installation of groundwater monitoring wells
  • Design of groundwater monitoring networks
  • Surface and groundwater quality studies
  • Preparation and presentation of contaminated site characterization studies
  • Final verification sampling for soil and groundwater
  • Response to environmental emergencies due to spills or leaks
  • Detection of underground infrastructure
  • Comprehensive hydrogeological studies

Accreditations and regulations that support our services

CAM is a company accredited by the Mexican Accreditation Entity A.C. (EMA) as a testing laboratory in the waste (No. R-0104-010/11) and water (No. AG-0105-013/11) branches, in accordance with NMX-EC-17025-IMNC-2018 (ISO/EC 17025:2017)

We have accreditations for:

    • Groundwater sampling using a low-flow technique, based on ASTM D4448-01 and Ground Water Issue EPA/540/S-95/04.
    • Hazardous waste sampling, based on Chapter 3 of EPA Compendium SW-846.
    • Sampling of hydrocarbon-contaminated soils, under NOM-138-SEMARNAT/SSA1-2012, Section 7.
    • Sampling of metal- and metalloid-contaminated soils, in accordance with NMX-AA-132-SCFI-2016.

These accreditations ensure that our results are accepted by regulatory authorities and useful for legal proceedings, remediation, or industrial processes.

Additionally, based on the provisions of article 55 of the Quality Infrastructure Law, as well as the Call for the accreditation and approval of certified product organizations, testing and/or testing laboratories and verification units, the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection issued the following: APPROVAL NO. PFPA-APR-LP-RS-006MS/2024

Specialized equipment for subsoil identification

We have technologies that allow for non-invasive detection of buried elements before drilling, reducing risks and optimizing resources:

GeoRadar (GPR – Ground Penetrating Radar)
Geophysical exploration technology that uses the transmission of high-frequency electromagnetic pulses into the subsoil through an antenna to accurately identify underground structures such as pipes, electrical wiring, cavities, and more, without the need for excavation.

Radio Detection (RD)
Technology used to locate underground cables and pipes using electromagnetic signals.

Vacuum excavation with the Vacmasters System 1000
Vacuum excavation system that uses air to safely and efficiently remove soil. It is ideal for industrial areas where there is a risk of damaging underground infrastructure, such as pipes or cables.

Advanced technology in environmental drilling

At CAM, we have a fleet of our own drilling equipment, selected according to the ground conditions and the specific needs of our clients. Drilling equipment with Direct Push and/or Hollow Helical Drilling systems allows us to guarantee efficiency, safety, and optimal results, adapting to different existing conditions..

AMS Power Probe Series

  • Models: 9100 VTR, 9110 VTR, 9130 VTR, 9500 VTR, 9580 VTR, LAP 9110 VTR, and 9630 GAS.
  • Applications: soil and water sampling, well installation, surveys in confined or hard-to-reach spaces.

Central Mine Equipment CME 75

It features an advanced drilling system designed to operate in soil and rock formations. Its optimized configuration allows for sample extraction, ensuring precision in physical, chemical, and geotechnical studies.

Geoprobe Direct Image® (MiHPT)
Direct imaging technology for field detection of:

  • Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) such as hydrocarbons and solvents (MIP).
  • Soil permeability (HPT).
  • Hydrocarbon contamination (Fluorescence OIP).
