History

In 1995,  a multidisciplinary group of  Mexican professionals decided to combine their acquired knowledge and experience to formalize the creation of a company that would contribute to improvement of the environment, society and Mexican industry. CAM legally began operations in Mexico City on September 11 of that  year.

Specifically, during ther 1990s, awareness and participation in issues of poverty and the environment grew in Mexican society. During this process, new environmental laws, regulations, and standards were developed, leading to the development of projects to reduce and control atmospheric emissions, wastewater discharges, and the generation of urban solid waste, special handling waste, and hazardous waste. There were also calls for improved wastewater treatment. Respect for natural ecosystems and their restoration in the face of the negative effects of human activity were  recognized.

Interest also grew in regularizing the management of liquid, solid, and hazardous waste and  above all, in recognizing respect for natural ecosystems and their restoration in the face of negative anthropogenic effects.

This combination allowed CAM to experience rapid reowth, placing us today as a leading company in technology, innovation and quality within the business segment in which we operate.

Contaminated Site Investigation and Hydrogeologyy

The Contaminated Site Investigation and Hydrogeology Division is CAM’s specialized area focused on one of our main lines of business: the characterization and remediation of contaminated sites (soil and groundwater). We have over 30 years of experience in the Mexican market and, for more than a decade, we have been the environmental consultancy with the largest number of environmental liability remediation programs completed before the authorities in the private sector.

Pioneers, comprehensive, and cutting-edge. We were the first in Mexico to introduce services such as mechanical drilling for environmental sampling, the determination of remediation levels based on Environmental Risk Assessments, and the systematic use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in all our projects.

Our comprehensive approach combines a multidisciplinary team of 25 professionals, proprietary machinery, and cutting-edge technology, including hollow-hole helical drilling rigs, direct-drive drilling equipment, geophysics, and the MiHPT high-resolution system (unique in Mexico) for intelligent, real-time characterization. This allows us to manage all stages of the process: from initial site assessments and exploratory and detailed sampling to complete remediation.

Key Accreditations: We are accredited by the EMA and approved by PROFEPA for sampling soil contaminated by hydrocarbons, metals, and metalloids, as well as groundwater and waste. We also hold authorizations from SEMARNAT, SCT, and ASEA for the transport of hazardous waste and the remediation of contaminated sites.

Key Figures:

  • More than 1,000 Environmental Site Assessments (ESA Phase I) nationwide.
  • More than 500 environmental characterization investigations and services.
  • According to data from INSCR SEMARNAT 2015-2022, we are the most important environmental consulting company in Mexico in the characterization and remediation of contaminated sites.

Security protocols

At CAM, we apply national and international occupational health and safety concepts, regulations, and standards to promote and implement a culture of prevention for the elimination and reduction of occupational risks, providing safe and healthy conditions for our multidisciplinary teams.

Our commitment to safety and environmental protection is based on our Safety, Health, and Environmental Protection Policy and Suspension of Work Policy.

To implement this policy, CAM has developed and implemented an Occupational Health and Safety Management System based on the NMX-SAST-45001-IMNC-2018 (ISO 45001:2018) standard, which includes a manual, policies, protocols, and operating procedures.

As part of our health protocols, in response to the new global reality, CAM is authorized by the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), which establishes that we meet all the conditions to maintain all our operations without jeopardizing the health of our team. Likewise, at CAM, we follow the guidelines of health authorities at all levels in Mexico, as well as the recommendations of international bodies such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This gives our clients the confidence that all our activities are carried out in strict adherence to applicable regulations and with the necessary care for the protection of our employees and clients.

Technology

We strive to use our team, staff, and cutting-edge methodologies to achieve greater efficiency and reliability in our services.

High Resolution – Direct Image (MIHPT)

It detects and records volatile organic compounds in the soil in real time, contaminants derived from petroleum hydrocarbons, and determines the relative permeability of the subsoil, as well as the granulometry associated with its lithology.

This equipment allows for on-site decisions regarding the design of the sampling and remediation plan, resulting in savings in time and money compared to traditional techniques.

Drones

By using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), we can offer a range of services in less time and at a lower cost, even in hard-to-reach areas. Our drone services include:

  • Reconnaissance flights for projects
  • Supervision and control of construction sites
  • Monitoring of material banks
  • High-resolution cartographic production
  • Topographic surveys
  • Urban cadastre updating

Ground-penetrating radar (GPR)

A non-invasive ground-penetrating method of up to 8 m that allows for the detection of underground structures and objects.

Radiodetector

Locate power, water, gas, telecommunications, etc. lines safely, accurately, and reliably.

Machinery and equipment

We are leaders in environmental drilling; we have our own equipment for our drilling and sampling operations. We have our own fleet, which is authorized by the Federal Authority for the safe transportation of Hazardous Waste.

Mechanical environmental drilling equipment

We have seven drilling rigs for various conditions; both direct-push and helical drilling, with depths of up to 55 meters.

Air/Vacuum Excavation System (Air Knife / Day-lighting)

This is a fluid-free drilling system that allows soil to be released with less risk of damaging subsurface structures, using air. Waste Transportation We have our own fleet of trucks, with seven dry hoppers for transporting hazardous waste.
